Allianz UK has made two c-suite appointments to it commercial arm, with Adam Lloyd joining as chief underwriting officer (CUO) and Claire Buck joining as chief technical officer (CTO).
Both appointments will report in to Phuong Ly, who will join as Allianz Commercial’s managing director for the UK on 1 April 2025. Ly was appointed in January and will lead all of insurer’s commercial business in the UK, spanning digital, mid-market and large-corporate, as well as the engineering inspection, legal protection and fleet business.
Lloyd joins from Allianz Australia and has previously held roles across both underwriting and sales, while Buck has been promoted from her role as head of commercial lines pricing at Allianz UK.
Both have more than 15 years of experience with Allianz. Buck joined the firm as an eTrading co-ordinator in 2006 while Lloyd joined Allianz Australia as a corporate production writer in 2009.
Important roles
Commenting on the appointments, Nick Hobbs, interim managing director at Allianz Commercial UK, said: ”Underwriting risk and technical excellence is at the heart of everything we do, so these are important roles for our commercial business.
