Insurer-broker interactions were up 12% during the last four weeks alone, Allianz, chief executive Jon Dye said
Communication between insurer and broker has actually improved during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, according to Allianz chief executive Jon Dye.
He said contact between the insurer’s underwriters and its broker partners was up 12% during the last four weeks compared to the same period last year.
”This shows both parties have found ways to keep trading and interact more frequently in these rather extraordinary times”, he said.
Allianz Holdings, the parent group of both Allianz Insurance and LV=GI, posted a strong set of results for the first half of the year, with operating profit up £93m compared to the same period last year.
The insurer has also taken other measures aimed at helping its intermediaries, including changing some policy declarations on issues such as business occupancy, and has allowed brokers to ask it for payment holidays for their customers.
”The critical thing is we’ve stayed in touch with them”, Dye said, adding: We’ve been ensuring that our contact levels actually are going up, so that whatever their particular issue or question may be, we are available for them.”
The communications team have also put together a resource on the company’s coronavirus hub to provide information which brokers have been using in significant numbers, the chief executive added.
Earier, Dye said that the insurance was facing a difficult time reputationally due to the Covid business interruption claims debate.
