The hire continues Allianz’s investment in ‘second line defence’, says chief executive
Allianz Holdings has hired Aviva’s Alison Rayner in the newly created role of chief compliance and corporate affairs officer, effective from February 2023 and subject to regulatory approval.
Rayner will be responsible for setting Allianz’s strategy around compliance and conduct regarding the insurer’s customers, clients, reputation, assets and stakeholder interests. She will also have oversight of the firm’s corporate and regulatory affairs.
She will report to Colm Holmes, chief executive of Allianz Holdings.
Holmes said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Alison to this new position.
”The appointment of a chief compliance and corporate affairs officer continues Allianz’s investment in our second line of defence and builds on the great work already undertaken and ongoing in our compliance team.
“Rayner has an impressive track record and strong reputation in our market and is an extremely valuable addition to our executive committee.”
Shared passion for ‘doing the right thing’
Rayner currently works at insurer Aviva, as group compliance and financial crime risks director.
She initially joined Aviva in January 2017 and has held several senior roles during her tenure, including UK general insurance compliance officer and UK digital chief risk officer.
Rayner added: “This is a very exciting time to be joining Allianz and helping to play a part in developing its compliance strategy.
“The team at Allianz share my passion for doing the right thing for the customer and I will be championing that approach whilst setting a strategy for the business to navigate the fast-changing regulatory environment.”
