Allianz is undertaking a structural reorganisation to simplify its business model for brokers and customers
Allianz Commercial has appointed David Carey as its new managing director for mid-market, effective from April 2023.
Carey will be responsible for leading Allianz Commercial’s regional trading teams and will focus delivery on driving profitable growth.
This reorganisation is part of a wider, multi-year strategy with Allianz investing heavily in simplifying its business model to improve broker and customer satisfaction.
Reporting to chief executive of Allianz Commercial Simon McGinn, Carey will be building on the exceptional deliveries from the regional trading teams over the last 12 months under the leadership of Nick Hobbs.
McGinn said: “I’m delighted to welcome Carey to his new position. He is vastly experienced and well-respected in the commercial insurance market and adds to the great strength in depth we already have in our trading teams.
“The creation of this new role underlines Allianz’s investment in our mid-market and distribution capabilities – which includes a major systems transformation programme – and specifically our commitment to delivering intelligent growth and the best possible solutions for brokers.”
Transforming commercial lines
Carey joins Allianz from Aviva, where he is currently a director for mid-market and regional speciality lines in UK commercial, with profit and loss accountability for their mid-market business.
