’I’m hugely proud of all we’ve achieved,’ says outgoing boss
Allianz Commercial chief executive Simon McGinn will be stepping down later this year, according to a statement released today (1 June 2023).
McGinn joined Allianz in 2004 and held several senior positions during his time with the business, including trading director and director of commercial broker markets.
He took up the position of general manager for commercial and personal businesses in 2016, taking responsibility for all of Allianz’s UK’s market strategy and trading business operations.
McGinn was appointed chief executive of Allianz Commercial in 2021 following a restructure.
Colm Holmes, Allianz Holdings chief executive, said: “Not only has Simon a long history of driving success in our business, but he’s also been at the helm for milestones including Brexit, our joint venture with LV= and of course Covid-19.
“He leaves a substantial legacy and I’d like to thank him for his enormous contribution to Allianz UK.”
’Hugely proud’

It comes after Allianz made several changes to its property and casualty commercial c-suite in the UK, Australia, France and Germany in March 2023.
As part of the move, Allianz’s commercial business in the UK will be led by Nadia Côté as managing director.
McGinn said it had been “wonderful to work with such fantastic people” and wished his colleagues the best going forward.
“We have built a great business across both commercial and personal lines and I’m hugely proud of all we’ve achieved,” McGinn added.
”I wish Colm, Nadia and all the team the very best as Allianz continues its transformation journey.”
