Allianz Holdings has appointed Benjamin Turner as its new UK chief information officer, a statement released today (4 July 2023) revealed.
Turner, who joined the insurer in 2020, will have the responsibility for overseeing IT across the UK and serve as a member of the operations IT executive committee.
He will report to chief operating officer Ashish Patel.
“With his insurance industry background and experience in transformation and innovation, he brings a lot to my team,” Patel said.
“I look forward to working with him as we drive forward Allianz’s ambitious operations and IT agenda.”
Experience
Turner joined Allianz through its acquisition of the general insurance division of Legal and General (L&G), where he served as the chief technology officer.

Alongside his role at L&G, he also worked as the IT delivery director for Allianz Personal in 2021 following the deal, before becoming its interim chief information officer in 2022.
Over the last six months, he has served as interim chief information officer across Allianz Holdings.
“Ben has done a terrific job over the last six months as our interim chief information officer,” Patel said.
“I’m happy to announce that he is now stepping into the role on a permanent basis.”
