The specialist travel broker has hired former Partnership Assurance chair Ian Owen, Insurance Times understands
Ian Owen is set to be announced as the new chairman of specialist travel insurance broker AllClear Insurance, Insurance Times understands.
AllClear is a portfolio company of private equity firm Synova Capital, and brokers travel policies for customers with pre-existing medical conditions typically aged 55 and over.
Owen currently chairs Canopius Managing Agents and Right Choice Holdings, but has had a string of other senior roles in insurance.
Owen was the founding chairman of private equity backed Partnership Assurance, the impaired life annuity provider, which he chaired from 2005 until its flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 2013.
He was also chairman of A-Plan from its management buyout in 2008 to sale to Hg Capital in 2015 and private equity backed life insurance consolidator Guardian Financial Services which was sold to Swiss Re in 2016.
He has been chief executive of Eagle Star International, managing director of Eagle Star Life and Zurich Personal Lines and Group Director at LV=.
Additionally, Owen has previously served on the boards of AA Insurance, Endsleigh and Unum.
