AIG has appointed Juan Perez to its board of directors as an independent director.
Perez, who currently serves as the executive vice president and chief information officer at Salesforce, has more than 30 years’ experience leading strategic technology initiatives.
As chief information officer at Salesforce, he oversees the global IT organisation and data strategy and advises on product strategy.
Previously, he held the same role at UPS, where he drove the company’s adoption of advanced analytics and led the implementation of technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI).
“I am very pleased to welcome Perez to the AIG board of directors and look forward to his contributions as we continue to advance our data and digital strategy,” said Peter Zaffino, chairman and chief executive at AIG.
Perez added: “I am impressed with AIG’s underwriting profitability, financial performance and strategic progress in multiple key areas, including their development of a GenAI and large language model powered solution.
“I am honoured to join AIG’s board of directors and support AIG’s colleagues around the world as they continue to position the company for long-term success.”
