The insurer has recruited a new CIO and promoted for a claims director
Insurer Ageas UK has appointed Rashmi Rao as its new chief information officer (CIO), while Stephen Linklater has been promoted to the position of claims director.
In an statement released yesterday (17 January 2023), the firm confirmed that both appointments have been in place since the beginning of the year.
Rao joins the firm from investor services firm IQ-EQ, where she worked as CIO since October 2021.
She boasts over 25 years’ experience in technology and digital transformation and has held senior leadership roles at firms including Bupa, XL Insurance and McKinsey.
Replacing Mark Collins as CIO, she will take a leading role in the delivery of Ageas’ replatforming programme, which the firm is undertaking to “become digital to its core”.
Linklater, meanwhile, joined Ageas in 2008 as head of household underwriting and has held various pricing and underwriting roles at the firm – he was recently appointed as managing director of the firm’s commercial business unit and has now been promoted to claims director.
He will replace Robin Challand, who joined Ageas in 1989.
