’Their extensive experience and proven track records in the personal lines’ insurance market will be invaluable,’ says chief distribution officer

Ageas UK has announced two senior hires as part of its plans to expand in the personal lines broker market.

The latest additions include Iain Belson, who will become director of distribution, as well as Beth Pilgrim, who has been named strategic portfolio manager.

Combined, the two appointees have more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Pilgrim will join during October 2024, while Belson will take up his new role a month later in November.

Adam Beckett, chief distribution officer at Ageas UK, said: “We are thrilled to welcome both Belson and Pilgrim to the Ageas team.

“Their extensive experience and proven track records in the personal lines’ insurance market will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our broker and affinity relationships and drive growth in our core channel.

“These additions to the team underscore our commitment to providing exceptional service and support to our broker partners, enabling them to trade with confidence with Ageas.”

Experience

Belson has worked in the personal lines market for more than 10 years and has worked in distribution, partnership and aggregation roles.

He joins from BGL Insurance, where he was most recently an associate director for insurer partnerships and supplier management.

In his new role, he will work with Claire Green to share the leadership of broker and partner distribution relationships.

Belson said: “Ageas has a strong reputation in the personal lines’ insurance market and I look forward to building on the solid foundations already laid by the team and maintaining the positive momentum to achieve our ambitious goals.”

Pilgrim, meanwhile, has over 20 years of experience in underwriting and business development.

Insurers she has worked with include Ensign, QBE and ERS, while she also spent five years in broking with Clements Worldwide.

Pilgrim said: “I am thrilled to be joining Ageas and to have the opportunity to contribute to its enduring legacy in the personal lines’ insurance market.

“With the exciting investments that Ageas is making in the broker channel, I’m keen to get started with its talented team to really drive forward exceptional value to our broker partners and customers.”
