The motor insurer made the move after being impressed with the initial deal
Motor insurer AA Underwriting is set to get more access to vehicle data after extending its partnership with insurance intelligence provider Percayso Inform.
The extension will see AA access Percayso’s granular vehicle-by-vehicle data, with the aim of bolstering its pricing strategy and underwriting decisions.
The decision builds on AA using Percayso’s vehicle intelligence claims tool, called Companion, across its motor insurance claims process over the last year.
AA head of underwriting Paul Wilyman said the firm’s claims team had seen a “number of benefits” from using Companion, as it has “given them the information they need to settle claims faster and with more accuracy”.
That, as a result, has delivered a “better service” for its customers.
“This experience encouraged us to explore how we could further enhance our data capabilities at point of quote to better inform our underwriting decisions in order to continue to deliver sustainable, profitable business and fair pricing to our customers,” he added.
“Having reviewed the various options in the market, Percayso’s data was analytically proved to be the most valuable.
“We were impressed with its wealth of data and the ease with which we could integrate into our quote process.”
Percayso insight
Percayso combines historic vehicle data with information from motor trade retail sales, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Ministry of Transport (MOT) history to form its vehicle database in the UK.

Percayso Vehicle Intelligence account director Kieran Fisher said the business was “committed to delivering the intelligence that motor insurance providers need to help underwrite policies competitively and ultimately write better business”.
“We’re delighted to be able to extend our working relationship with AA and look forward to supporting Paul and his team over the coming months,” he added.
