He was previously interim chief financial officer at the Co-operative Insurance Society
Hyperion Insurance Group has appointed Richard Houghton as its new interim group chief financial officer, with Oliver Corbett departing later this month.
It follows news of Corbett stepping down as chief financial officer earlier this year.
Corbett will leave later this month with Houghton taking the helm from the 10 December onwards.
Houghton will receive a full handover from Corbett.
Hyperion chief executive, David Howden, said: “His experience in the financial and insurance sectors, including 10 years as chief financial officer in FTSE 100 and S&P 500 companies, make him a strong addition to our executive committee.”
Most recently, Houghton was recently interim chief financial officer at the Co-operative Insurance Society.
Prior to that, he was Group CFO at RSA Insurance Group and Aspen Insurance. He started his career at Deloitte and then spent ten years in the banking sector undertaking a number of senior finance roles with National Bank of Australia and finance director for Direct Line RBS Insurance.
In October Hyperion group announced that it had created a fourth business division with a technology angle.
