Maxted moves to Aon
Larry Maxted, former director at Perkins Slade, has joined Aon Global UK as sales and marketing managing director. Maxted will attempt to drive business growth and will report to Ken MacDonald, UK chief executive of Aon Global. “Larry’s appointment is part of a long-term growth strategy,” said MacDonald.
Spiller to take Heritage job
David Spiller, chief executive of Guy Carpenter, has been appointed chairman of Heritage Managing Agency, a member of Argo Group International. The appointment is subject to approval from Lloyd’s and the FSA. Spiller will succeed John Kavanaugh, whose tenure ended after Argo’s acquisition of Heritage in May.

Price comparison website Confused.com has added Churchill, Privilege, Tesco, Prudential and Virgin to its panel of insurers for home and motor cover. Carlton Hood, chief executive officer of Confused.com, said: “We believe these additions will help us to widen the gap between us and our nearest competitor.”
