Central Insurance Services aims for growth
Scottish broker Central Insurance Services has strengthened its board with the appointment of Chris Tosh as a director.
Tosh joined the Aberdeen based brokers six years ago and is the company’s commercial schemes account manager. He became a shareholder at the time of a management buy out in January 2008.
Central Insurance recently expanded their operation in to England with the £1.5m acquisition of high performance car insurance specialist Peart Insurance Brokers, based in Kendal, Cumbria.
Central Insurance managing director, Iain Henry, said Tosh’s appointment as a director was in recognition of his contribution to the ongoing development of the company.
Henry said: “Chris has been an enthusiastic and valuable member of our management team and his elevation to the board underlines our policy of rewarding hard work and loyalty.
“Chris’s ambition is matched by his fellow directors and he will play an important role in continuing to develop Central Insurance as one of the UK’s leading independent brokers as we seek out new opportunities.
“Our acquisition of Peart Insurance in January takes us in to a new market and offers great opportunities but we don’t intend on resting on our laurels and are ready to make further acquisitions if all the market conditions are right and it fits with our growth strategy.
“To move the business on to the next level we need a strong and forward looking board of directors and Chris’ attributes are a welcome addition to our existing strengths.”
Chris Tosh added: “It’s an exciting time to be part of the team running Scotland’s largest insurance brokers and I am looking forward to making a valuable contribution to the ongoing success of the company.”
