New director at Open GI

Open GI has appointed Richard Earle as software development director.

Earle was previously director of client delivery at Cirquent, a major European supplier of IT Consulting services, whose key clients include BMW Group, Allianz Germany and T-Mobile.

He has also held a number of senior roles at companies such as Aon, BACS and Perot Systems after beginning his career at Equity and Law, which was acuired by Axa.

In his new role at Open GI, Earle will drive the company’s product development schedule, ensuring that new opportunities in e-commerce and the electronic trading of commercial lines are fully maximised. He will also take control of the Open GI development team which includes over 100 dedicated system developers.

Earle said: “Having spent the last few years in IT service related roles, I was keen to expand my experience in software development. Open GI is a highly successful company with a large R&D budget and a market leading product that has the potential to be developed well into the future.

"The general insurance industry has maintained its buoyancy in the current economic climate and continues to present a great deal of opportunities.”
