Specialist travel and wintersports intermediary MPI Brokers has launched a package designed to enable tour operators to cover their seasonal workers abroad.
The package was divided into two parts, said MPI. The first part covers emergency medical and repatriation expenses including personal liability, which the employer pays for.
The second half of the package includes personal accident, baggage and money for ski equipment and ski passes. It also covers the cost of returning home in the event of a family bereavement, and subsequent travel back to the resort, said MPI.
Employees can opt to take out the second half of the package, which the employer does not pay for.
MPI Brokers managing director Michael Pettifer said the plan brought together the broker's experience in providing cover for the resort industry and resort workers.
