Boost driven by ‘improvements to customer journey’
Price comparison site Moneysupermarket generated £36.8m of revenue from its insurance comparison business in the first quarter of 2015, up 12% on the same quarter last year.
The company said the insurance revenue growth was driven by “improvements we have made to the customer journey”.
Group-wide, Moneysupermarket’s revenues for the quarter were up 25% to £76.6m.
But the company warned that it does not expect the “exceptional” first quarter growth to continue throughout the year, and added that revenues had slowed in April.
Despite this, the aggregator said it is confident of meeting full-year expectations.
Moneysupermarket group chief executive peter Plumb said: “The first quarter saw strong growth across all three brands, with over 1.5 million families saving money on their household bills through the Moneysupermarket group.
“As expected, second quarter growth is slowing from the 25% performance of the first quarter.”
