Insurer looking to increase business volume with small firms
Insurer MMA is looking to expand its commercial lines offering to brokers by increasing its business with small firms.
Derek Plummer, commercial director at MMA said: “We’ve been at the micro end of the market, providing insurance to small shops but we want to develop ourselves as a commercial lines insurer."
MMA will embark on a national road show to speak to brokers face to face about its new commercial lines expansion.
An initial six events are scheduled for spring and early summer with a second phase in the autumn. Begining in the North East, MMA will be staging events in North West England, Scotland, the Midlands, the South West and the South East.
The first event will take place on 7 May in Durham and the second on 21 May in Huddersfield.
“Brokers are asking for local, personalised service and that is just what we will be providing. We hope to convince them that MMA is a credible alternative to the large composites. Brokers attending the events will have the opportunity to meet the senior management team, learn more about MMA’s commercial lines capability and view demonstrations of online systems,” said Plummer.
Plummer added that MMA would open an office in the South East and South West regions in England. MMA recently opened offices in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham.
