MMA-MAAF chairman and chief executive Jean-Claude Seys affirmed the company's commitment to the UK market and its UK subsidiaries Swinton, MMA Insurance, and its4me.
Seys said: “At a time of much comment around the future of the intermediary channel for personal lines insurance, it is opportune for the parent company to clarify our position relative to our UK subsidiaries.
“We remain confident that the majority of personal lines customers will continue to use the expertise of an intermediary in terms of securing best advice, choice and value for money.
“We are thus pleased to re-affirm our long-term commitment to the UK and to both our insurer and broker companies. The necessary support will be provided for their ongoing development.
“Additionally, the success of our start-up Internet intermediary, its4me, provides further evidence of brokers' ability to compete effectively with direct writers”.
