Membership proposal sent to more than 200 MGAs
The Managing General Agents' Association (MGAA) has published its membership proposal and called for prospective members and funding ahead of its launch in November.
The membership proposal has been sent to more than 200 managing general agents (MGAs), providing more information about how the MGAA functions and appealing for feedback.
Membership of the MGAA is open to underwriting agencies based in the UK, the British Overseas Territories and the Crown Dependencies.
The MGAA aims to achieve a membership representing 75% of the market within the first year of operation.
Reg Brown, chair of the MGAA's steering committee, said: "We have taken the first steps to establish a platform that can properly represent the interests of the MGA sector in the UK, but we cannot do this alone. The backing and active participation of MGAs and the market is essential."
The MGAA has also approached a number of interested parties to secure initial funding support.
