New man to drive growth for Marsh’s consumer business across EMEA
Marsh has appointed Mike Melling to be CEO of its Consumer Practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Melling, who will be based in London, will also be a member of the EMEA Operating Committee.
He joins from GE Money where he was head of the business-to-consumer division of GE Money Home Lending and served as a board director from 2005. In that role, he was responsible for the consumer mortgage, loans, and insurance business including sales to 16 million UK customers. He built a 500-strong sales and marketing team and had responsibility for strategic partnerships and sales.
Previously, Melling held a variety of senior leadership roles at American Express, culminating in the leadership of the international customer management and cross-sales team, transforming its consumer financial services capabilities through innovative marketing strategies to improve sales and increase brand loyalty.
Melling said: “I am excited by the opportunity to build on the considerable momentum Marsh has generated in meeting the insurance programme needs of its affinity and employer sponsors as well as high net worth individuals.
“I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region to ensure we are consistently delivering global best practice value propositions for our clients”.
