Mclarens Toplis has reported that it is so far dealing with more than 200 claims in Turkey as a result of the earthquake which caused devastation in the industrial north west of the country.
The firm's Roger Dalton has been to Ismet – the town at the epicentre of the quake – where he has begun working on claims with the company's local representative office.
The largest claim to date is one for $80 million (£50m).
"It is too early to say what impact this will have on the insurance market," said Dalton, who is multi-national account director.
"But the Ismet area is gradually returning to normal and we are expecting to see much reinsurance work in the future."
