Deloitte has hired Ian Sparshott, previously insurance partner at Mazars, as a new partner in its rapidly expanding UK insurance industry team.
Sparshott brings over 12 years' experience in advising insurers on corporate finance deals, from IPOs to broker consolidation advice and transaction due diligence.
He specialises in general insurance, working with the Lloyd's and London market, brokers and UK and international insurers and reinsurers.
Mark FitzPatrick, head of the insurance industry group at Deloitte, said: “Ian brings with him a wealth of experience in advising insurance companies on complex transactions and his appointment will ensure we are increasingly well placed to provide insurers with expert deal support.
"He is a valuable addition to the firm and his recruitment is a clear demonstration of our commitment to building a market leading insurance practice in the UK."
Deloitte, which works with 17 of the top 20 general insurance companies in the UK, said it was growing its insurance practice "to reflect the major challenges and opportunities facing the sector".
