Julie Page will work to expand broker's presence in SME sector
Marsh has appointed Julie Page as head of Marsh UK's commercial practice, which serves the UK’s SME sector.
She will report to Ian Clarke, chief operating officer of Marsh UK and succeeds Chris Wallace who has left the company to pursue other interests.
Page has held a variety of senior positions in Marsh UK’s operations prior to taking up her appointment. Most recently, she headed the transformation programme of Marsh UK’s middle market business, developing the company’s strategy and expansion in this market segment.
Commenting on the appointment Martin South, CEO of Marsh UK, said: “The UK SME sector comprises well over four million companies and employs almost 60% of the UK workforce. During uncertain economic times this highly fragmented market, which has historically been under-serviced from an insurance standpoint, is increasingly looking for independent expertise and advice on the risks businesses face. We are excited by the tremendous opportunities for profitable growth this dynamic market offers. Julie's extensive knowledge of the industry, combined with her proven track record for growing businesses and delivering superb client service, makes her excellently qualified to lead our expansion in this key market sector.”
Page said: “Marsh is determined to ensure that small and medium sized enterprises have access to the best risk advice available to help their businesses navigate the choppy economic waters confronting them. By providing our customers with competitive products and services, and making it easy and efficient for them to transact with us, we will be able to deliver real value. I am excited by the opportunities and look forward to working with the Marsh team for the benefit of our SME clients.”
