Man Cheung has been promoted to leader of Marsh's UK-based modelling, analysis and design team.

Cheung will report to Eddie McLaughlin in his new role, which involves leading strategic product development and new business creation.

Cheung has worked in the industry for 10 years and was Highly Commended in the Young Broker of the Year category in 2006's Insurance Day Awards and listed in Insurance Times' Top 25 future leaders in the broking industry.

McLaughlin said: “Risk modelling has grown in prominence in recent years from focusing simply on conventional financial modelling, to include all sorts of uncertainties, such as modelling the most efficient use of capital and risk appetite, catastrophe related modelling, quantifying business in strategic risk and numerous other financial or risk related uncertainties. Companies are increasingly seeing the material value of well-executed risk modelling in both traditional and non-traditional risk.

“Man's strong technical expertise, coupled with his incisive understanding of the risks our clients face, will no doubt prove invaluable as we grow our risk modelling business in the UK.”
