Shirley Sutcliffe from Aon and Iain Brown from Abbott & Bramwell join Marsh's NMBC.
Marsh, the insurance broker and risk adviser, has announced the appointments of Iain Brown and Shirley Sutcliffe as senior placement brokers in its National Marine Broking Centre (NMBC), based in Manchester.
Reporting to Tim Jeacocke, leader of NMBC, Brown and Sutcliffe will focus on developing Marsh’s marine cargo business around the UK.
Marsh’s NMBC links closely with the firm’s London-based Marine Specialty team and oversees the placement, servicing and development of marine cargo and freight liability insurance for Marsh’s UK office network. The NMBC is also responsible for the creation of marine cargo products designed to meet the changing needs of clients.
Brown joins Marsh from specialist broker Abbott & Bramwell. He was previously a Marine Account director at Aon, and has over 30 years’ experience in marine cargo, stock throughput and freight liability.
Sutcliffe joins Marsh from Aon’s Marine Broking unit, where she was a marine broker. She has over 20 years’ experience in marine cargo as well as sub-sea risks.
Commenting on the new hires, Mr Jeacocke said: “Iain and Shirley are two highly experienced marine brokers and I am delighted to welcome them to the NMBC. Marine insurance remains a highly specialist area and our new colleagues further strengthen the support the NMBC can deliver to our client base and the Marsh’s wider UK network.”
