Marsh is to target public sector organisations in the North West and the South East as it continues to expand its UK public sector practice.
The company is currently on a recruitment drive in the two regions in a bid to provide national coverage across the public sector from social housing to central government.
Brian Shaw, Marsh UK public sector leader, told Insurance Times: "We consolidated the division on 1 January 2006 and created a national practice with two regional hubs in Cardiff and Newcastle.
"We have traditional and regional strength in South Wales, south west England and eastern Scotland, but part of this refocus is to service areas where there is plenty of potential growth, such as the North West and the South East."
Under expansion plans, the public sector practice will focus on developing a change management solution for the sector.
Marsh has also made five key appointments within its practice as part of the restructure.
Dave Fleetwood, formerly head of strategic change at the City of Sunderland Council, has joined as a non-executive director.
