New practice to operate from regional hubs in London and New York
Marsh has established a dedicated Renewable Energy Team in an attempt to address emerging risks in the global market.
The new team will be based out of two regional hubs in London and New York, and will be headed by Susan Stokes and Tom Sexton, working closely with the firm’s Global Marine & Energy and Power & Utilities Industry Practices.
Sexton will be responsible for operations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, while Stokes will oversees the team's operations in the American sub-continent.
Marsh has been involved in risk assessment and providing related solutions for clients involved in a range of renewable projects, including onshore and offshore wind, ethanol and biodiesel plants, solar energy, hydro-electric power generation, wave and tidal schemes.
Ms Stokes said:
"Businesses and governments have sharpened their focus on renewable energy, particularly as the energy industry responds to the global emphasis on developing new technologies that lower carbon emissions. The creation of Marsh’s Renewable Energy Practice provides both a framework as well as dedicated resources from multiple practices to expand our efforts to help clients address emerging risk issues in this dynamic sector."
Mr Sexton added:
"As clients commit significant resources and push technological boundaries to develop this rapidly growing sector, they need effective and innovative approaches to address their exposures. Marsh has the resources and the expertise to help them address a wide array of risks as they expand their activities in all parts of the world."
