Markel International has increased the capacity of Syndicate 3000 for the 2002 year of account from £200m to £260m.
Jeremy Cooke, President of Markel International, said: "It will support all areas."
"I am very pleased that we are now able to expand our Lloyd's capacity. This demonstrates our continuing commitment to the London Market and our clear confidence in current market conditions."
He added that there would be a particular focus on professional indemnity and property.
Markel announced they have also received the consent of the Lloyd's Authorisation Committee.
