Markel international, has appointed of Wayne Paternoster to the role of contingency underwriter in the specialty underwriting division. Wayne joins Markel to continue and expand an existing contingency account including cancellation, non-appearance, statistical prize indemnity and adverse weather expanding into contract bonus, non-statistical prize indemnity, over-redemption and death & disgrace.
Announcing this latest underwriting acquisition, Peter Middleton, managing director of the secialty division, said: “We believe that there are a multitude of opportunities in the contingency line of business, both in London and internationally, and we are very excited about the prospects of the account following the arrival at Markel of this enthusiastic and dynamic new underwriting talent”.
Wayne joins the company from Sirius UK where he wrote the contingency account.
