Simon Stevens to lead Britannia Rescue
LV= has appointed Simon Stevens to head up its road rescue arm Britannia Rescue.
Stevens will be responsible for day-to-day management of Britannia Rescue and identifying opportunities to expand the company going forward.
He will report into LV=’s operations director Peter Horton, and will be based in Britannia Rescue’s head office in Huddersfield.
Stevens has held a number of roles in the financial services sector including positions at both HBOS and Churchill. Most recently Stevens was the managing director of Uinsure, an internet insurance intermediary for mortgage brokers and IFAs.
Prior to this, Stevens spent eight years at HBOS and held a range of positions, including that of deputy chief executive of the general insurance division.
Stevens said: “I am very pleased to be joining the LV= Group at such an exciting time. Britannia Rescue has a fantastic heritage and I am looking forward to taking the company to the next level. I have lots of experience in developing businesses and I see plenty of opportunities for Britannia Rescue to expand its business whilst maintaining its respected customer-focused philosophy.”
Peter Horton, operations director of LV= general insurance, added: “I am delighted Simon has joined to head up the Britannia Rescue team in Huddersfield. He brings a wealth of operational experience from other companies in the financial sector and I am confident he will make a great leader for Britannia Rescue.”
