Horton becomes first of five-strong core GI leadership team to exit
LV= general insurance chief operating officer Peter Horton is leaving the business.
An LV= spokeswoman said Horton is exiting “to look at other projects in the market”.
Horton will be the first of the five-strong core general insurance leadership team to leave LV= outright.
The team’s contracts with the insurer expire at the end of 2015. The five joined LV= when the insurer bought the company they had founded – ABC Insurance Services – in 2006 to form the core of its general insurance operation.
LV= general insurance managing director John O’Roarke, another of the five, is planning to seek a non-executive role at LV= once his contract expires at the end of the year.
He told Insurance Times earlier this month that LV= is in the process of finding a successor to lead the general insurance business.
LV= Broker managing director Phil Bunker is stepping into an advisory role in early 2016, and will be replaced by commercial lines director Mike Crane.
It is not yet clear what the remaining two members – finance director Steve Castle and risk director Paul Cassidy – will do when their contracts expire.
