Former IIB director general to be remembered in Spring service
Barbara Bradshaw, IIB Director, has announced that Andrew Paddick's funeral will be private, but the Institute will be organising a memorial service in London during the Spring.
The family have requested that donations can be made to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Andrew’s favourite charity, care of the Funeral Directors: William Peacock & Sons, Castle Hill Lodge, Castle Moat Road, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE29 3PG.
As previously advised, the IIB says it will continue to operate as a powerful voice for the insurance broking community during the forthcoming period, while the Board meets to consider the long term direction of the Institute.
Barbara Bradshaw will, in addition to day-to-day management, oversee the Institute’s political lobbying and member focused activities, carrying on the work she has undertaken in tandem with Andrew Paddick for many years.
Graham Gomm, chairman of the IIB, said: “The board is well aware of the significant input that Barbara Bradshaw has had into the political consultation process over many years and is confident that this will continue uninterrupted during the forthcoming months. Members can be reassured that their interests will continue to be listened to, and represented at the very highest level; government can expect the high standard of input on behalf of the insurance broking community to persist.”
Ann Peel, head of Technical Services and former registrar of the Insurance Brokers Registration Council, will be responsible for regulatory and technical insurance matters.
“This will simply be an extension of the existing arrangements,” said Barbara Bradshaw. “Ann has tremendous experience and has been providing front line support to IIB members, to the Board and to Andrew himself over a long period.”
Peel, who is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, will step up to drive the Institute’s activities in regulatory and technical areas.
