The director of Miller Fisher's Lloyd's unit has left, as the company begins to reorganise its London Market business.
The third party administration company has brought in Paula Doolan from its Irish arm, Miller Farrell, to run the new operation.
Lloyd's unit director Alan Speyer, who was close to retirement, quit as the changes were announced.
Miller Fisher chief operating officer Tom Anderson said the company would set up a "link team" to handle London Market account management from offices in Chelmsford.
"It will work a lot more efficiently than it did previously," he said.
Doolan will build a London Market team and concentrate on new business development.
"Doolan was with Miller Farrell for a number of years, after Miller Farrell bought Brian Collins & Associates where she was already in charge of the London Market business," Anderson said.
"Now we have her working at a group level."
Anderson said Doolan's expertise was in liability and property but that she would be able to bring in a well-rounded array of business.
Meanwhile, Miller Fisher has made one of its motor managers, Derek McLeod, redundant.
Anderson said: "We just don't need the position any more."
