Lloyd's recruits former Willis managing director for Latin America
Lloyd’s has further strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Jose Ribeiro as its new director of international markets and business development.
Ribeiro, previously Willis’ Managing Director for Latin America and member of Willis International’s management team, will be responsible for promoting the market across the globe, seeking new business opportunities and monitoring the development of emerging markets.
Lloyd’s chief execuitve, Richard Ward, said: "This is an important step forward for Lloyd’s and I am delighted that Jose has joined us. Jose has worked as a broker, underwriter and actuary, and therefore has a wealth of experience that will be invaluable to us. I look forward to working with him."

Ribeiro added: "Lloyd’s network of global licences is one of its key strengths. Its brand is so strong it is known almost everywhere. Taking on this role is therefore an exciting opportunity and my time with Willis, working with great professionals and developing unique solutions for clients, has more than prepared me for this challenge."
He will manage Lloyd’s international operations in Europe, Asia, Australasia, Africa and South America and will work closely alongside Sue Langley, the newly appointed Director, Market Operations and North America. This will complete the senior management team for its international coverage.
A start date will be confirmed in due course.
