Lloyd's has appointed Mark Patterson as its new controller of agencies, replacing Karen Bizon.
The corporation has also promoted David Lawrence to deputy controller.
As controller of agencies, Patterson is responsible for Lloyd's network of 300 agents worldwide. In his thirty-year marine insurance career he has worked at INA, AIG and CV Starr.
“I am delighted to welcome Mark on board and I have high hopes that he will continue the great work of Karen Bizon and her team over the past few years," said Lloyd's director of franchise performance management Tom Bolt in a statement. "His wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry will be a great asset in building the business.”
Patterson added: "This appointment is a great honour for me. Throughout my time in the marine insurance industry the work of the Lloyd's Agency has been known to me. I look forward to working with the team to build upon the solid foundations that have been forged over the past 200 years.”
Lloyd's Agency was established 200 years ago to protect the interests of Lloyd’s marine underwriters overseas. It now has over 300 Lloyd’s agents and 340 sub-agents located in every major port around the globe forming the world's most extensive surveying and adjusting network.
