Stokoe to manage US and international cat risks book
Liberty Syndicates has appointed Simon Stokoe to lead its niche casualty portfolio within its newly-formed specialty products underwriting team.
Reporting to Liberty Syndicate’s head of specialty products Peter Smith, Stokoe will manage a book of US and international casualty risks.
Smith said: “Simon has been in the industry for many years, developing great relationships across the market. With these relationships he has managed to build and maintain a solid portfolio which continues to expand today.”
Liberty Syndicate’s chief underwriting officer Matthew Moore said: “Simon’s hire yet again demonstrates the appetite of our business to attract the best underwriters in the London market. The high quality of our specialty product offering confirms our status as a ‘must see’ market for our brokers and clients.”
Liberty said the division will be fully operational this month and will ensure the Syndicate is positioned to underwrite a full range of niche insurance and reinsurance product lines plus next generation emerging risks.
The insurer said the team aimed to establish itself as a credible lead market in London for treaty personal accident, treaty pecuniary lines, niche casualty and crisis management.
