Liberty Mutual Insurance is stepping up its push into the UK commercial lines mid-market by appointing ten new staff.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe's new commercial lines division, launched in March, has hired:
- Jason Yip and Ben Mahon, who join Liberty’s Manchester office as senior commercial combined underwriters alongside Mike Henderson and Simon Mulvee who join as broker account manager and business development assistant respectively
- Liz Perry and Ruth Briscoe, who join Liberty’s new Birmingham office as commercial combined underwriter and underwriting assistant respectively
- Tracy Harding, who joins the London & South East office as senior commercial combined underwriter alongside Samuel Oatley as business development assistant and Andrew Shepherd as commercial combined underwriter
- A tenth appointment – Mark Alton – joins the Manchester office to serve as regional casualty manager
The company said the appointment of the commercial combined underwriters marks the rollout of Liberty Mutual Insurance’s new commercial combined product, the first time Liberty has offered property and casualty in a single package in the UK.
Liberty said it has also bolstered its claims handling capabilities to assist with the handling of less complex claims.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe’s chief executive Sean Rocks said: “Our push in the commercial mid-market means a significant expansion of our commercial team.
"We made a number of key hires before the launch and we will continue to add to our headcount this year as we build momentum.
"I’m delighted with the way in which our entry into this market has been received by brokers. The feedback has been extremely positive and I feel we’ve created quite a buzz in the sector.”
As part of Liberty's strategic push into the UK commercial lines mid-market, it launched new operations in Birmingham and London and has plans for further expansion this year.
