Legal & General (L&G) has released an insurance package - Buyer's Protection with SmoothMove - to cover clients for problems that can occur when moving house.
The insurance protects you against problems that can arise during the house buying transaction, as well as those on the actual day of the move.
Coverages include being gazumped, the vendor withdrawing, removal vans not turning up and domestic emergencies in the first three months at the new house.
L&G spokesman Stephen Smith commented: "Deciding to move home is a commitment to costs such as legal fees, valuation and lender arrangement fees which can be expensive if things go wrong.
"Now homeowners know they shouldn't be left out of pocket if their purchase falls through or if they are stranded by the roadside on the actual day of the move."
