Director of market operations to hand over Project Darwin duties internally
Lloyd’s of London’s director or market operations Sue Langley will be leaving the Corporation at the end of this year.
Langley, who has been responsible for overseeing Project Darwin – the modernisation of Lloyd’s back office system, will leave in December 2012. The Exchange and Lloyd’s Information and Reporting also came under her remit.
Lloyd’s chief executive Richard Ward said her role will be reallocated internally in the next few weeks.
“After five years as director, market development, Sue Langley will be moving on from Lloyd’s in December,” Ward wrote in a market memo released yesterday.
“I am grateful to Sue for her time at Lloyd’s and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank her for her significant contribution and wish her continued success. She has taken a lead role in pushing forward our modernisation agenda and it will be important for us to maintain that positive momentum.
“I will be reallocating Sue’s responsibilities internally and will announce those plans in the coming weeks to ensure as smooth a transition as possible.”
Langley joined Lloyd’s from Hiscox in 2007, where she was previously chief operating officer.
She was the chair for the G6, the group of six Lloyd’s managing agencies which have been leading the modernisation of the Lloyd’s market.
