Gary Pickering is appointed sales and marketing boss

Legal & General has hired Gary Pickering as sales and marketing director for its general insurance business.

Pickering was previously sales director at Chelsea Building Society.

Peter Graham, managing director for L&G’s general insurance business said: “The general insurance business is already showing great success in producing profitable year on year growth and the majority of that business is through our intermediaries/business partners.

“We are extremely pleased that Gary has joined the general insurance team as we will benefit from Gary’s wealth of experience and knowledge to deliver meaningful ‘top line’ growth to our business.”

He will be based at Legal & General’s office in Birmingham from 7 July.
