Peter Graham replaces Jane Dale as managing director
Legal & General has appointed of Peter Graham as managing director of its general insurance business. He replaces Jane Dale, who left the business at the end of 2007.
A spokesman for the company said Dale had left following the completion of the strategic review of the business. Finance director Mike Lawler had overseen the business in the interim period.
L&G said the appointment was further demonstration of Legal & General’s intent to build a strong and sustainable General Insurance business as part of Legal & General’s protection proposition for the housing market.
"Peter brings to the role over 15 years of executive management expertise of the general insurance market. Previously a chief executive at esure and Towergate, he has extensive experience of leading organisations through operational development and change to meet the challenges of today’s general insurance marketplace," the company said in a statement.
Graham joined on 25 March 2008 and is based in Legal & General’s office in Birmingham. He will report to John Pollock, the group board director for Legal & General’s protection and annuity business.
John Pollock, Group Executive Director, Protection & Annuities commented said: "I would like to welcome Peter to Legal & General, and look forward to working with him in the future as we add further energy and direction to the good progress already made in delivering the general Insurance business strategy."
