Aggregator claims that less than half of consumers buy the cheapest motor insurance available.

Kwik Fit Insurance has become the latest addition to aggregator comparethemarket.com's panel.

In a statement Comparethemarket.com said it searches more than 400 prices and holds exclusive relationships with brands not present on other comparison sites.

The company cited recent reasearch which suggested that buyer of private car insurance were moving away from price, with 45 per cent of comparethemarket.com users in April selecting motor quotes that were not listed as the cheapest.

Kal Samra, Managing Director of comparethemarket.com said the addition would enhance its offering. He said: “Customers are embracing price comparison sites at a rapid rate, and to insurance brands they bring a cost-effective means of reaching an audience of millions. Recent consumer research conducted by Synovate placed comparethemarket.com within the top three price comparison sites.
