Belmont Insurance has acquired Bishops, creating what is claimed to be the largest independent insurance broker in Kent. The company now controls over £60m of premium income.
Belmont and Bishops will retain their trading identities and operations and the two businesses will be managed by the Belmont Insurance Holdings executive team.
Sevenoaks-based Belmont was formed in 1988 and employs 60 staff. It has a strong passenger transport portfolio. Ashford-based Bishops was formed in 1962 and employs 45 staff.
