A broker distribution group operated by a software house is set to become the UK's largest general insurance broker group within the next 6 months.
KC Partners is the new set-up launched by Key Choice, the broker distribution group operated by software house Software Solutions Partners (SSP).
The set-up will deliver a range of electronically traded general insurance products from eight insurer partners via SSP's electRa system.
550 brokers have already been upgraded to KC Partner Broker status, and the company says it aims to sign up a further 350 SSP broker customers to the programme over the next six months.
Insurers who have already agreed to support the initiative include Fortis, MMA and Groupama, with Groupama being the first insurer to launch a new range of products on 1 September.
Other insurers engaged in advanced discussions include NIG, Royal & SunAlliance and Zurich, with AXA and Cox (Equity Red Star) reported to also be in early stage negotiations to complete the team of eight.
