Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has signed a three-year sponsorship deal for the Dee Stakes derby trial held at Chester racecourse.
In a similar deal, MBNA Europe Bank has signed a three-year deal to sponsor the other derby trial held at Chester, the Chester Vase.
JLT UK chief executive Dominic Burke said: "We are very pleased to help secure the future of the Dee Stakes, which, in the past few years, has become the principal Derby trial in Britain.
JLT acted as insurer for several bookmaking firms, said the company. Burke said: "With our business links in horseracing, we are most keen to become more involved in the racing industry."
