The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has appointed Steve Fowler as permanent executive director.
IRM chairman Ian McNeil said: "I am delighted to appoint Steve, who has led development of the Institute's refocused education programme over the past two years. Steve's appointment marks an important further step for the IRM as we seek to capitalise on growing interest in risk management education across the world.
"The Institute is now positioned as a broad `educational aggregator', offering core learning in risk management based on the joint IRM/AIRMIC/ALARM Risk Management Standard, coupled with a range of specialist subjects increasingly developed with other institutes and educational providers."
David King, who was to support the IRM as acting executive director, has returned to Royal & SunAlliance for health reasons.
