The National Campaign Against Insurance Premium Tax claims that Chancellor Gordon Brown will increase insurance tax in order to boost spending on the National Health Service.

The lobbying group says that Brown should avoid increasing IPT in the April budget because this year's increased premiums are generating greater returns to the Treasury already.
