Invicta Insurance Services has acquired the general insurance business of Suffolk broker Wordsmith Insurance Services.
The deal, which will complete on September 1, is Invicta's ninth acquisition in 18 months.
Invicta managing director Steve Gamage said: “We welcome these loyal Wordsmith customers to Invicta, where we combine good old fashioned personal service with modern technology to satisfy our customers’ insurance requirements.
"I am confident that my friendly and experienced staff will continue to provide these customers with the excellent service that they have previously enjoyed.”
Keith Canham, owner of Wordsmith Insurance Services, said: “We are sure that Invicta will ensure that our customers continue to receive the best possible service and advice. The culture of Invicta will suit my customers well.”
Invicta chairman Paul Cosh added: “We are keen to acquire further quality businesses whether they are large businesses or relatively small portfolios like Wordsmith.
"Steve and his acquisition team at Invicta would love to hear from other brokers interested in selling some or all of their portfolios discreetly, swiftly and at a fair price.”
