Westcountry farmers could benefit from the introduction of disease insurance if underwriters accept research from Warwick University.
The high risk associated with cattle diseases such as Bovine TB, has deterred underwriters from offering disease insurance.
New research produced by Warwick University claims to be able to identify organisms that cause disease, which can survive in soil for up to four months.
The university is working with insurers to establish a method of incorporating its findings into how decisions are reached about providing disease insurance.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
